More information

Paille-Tech is a cooperative specializing in the prefabrication and assembly of wood-frame buildings, straw-bale insulation, and raw-earth plasters. After more than 10 years of development, we are launching the necessary investments to optimize our production line and double our business volume. The circular economy is at the heart of the Paille-Tech prefabrication project, both during the design phase and at the end of our product's life. Straw is an abundant by-product of cereal production and is readily available locally. It is used unprocessed in our walls, directly from the fields. It provides an excellent support for clay-based plasters, eliminating the need for vapor-barrier membranes and plasterboard. Constructing a Paille-Tech house avoids the use of energy- and CO2-intensive materials such as concrete, bricks, and petrochemical insulation. At the end of its life, the wood, straw, and earth components of a Paille-Tech house are either reusable or compostable. They are easy to separate and require no complex treatment.
