Partnerships

Building sustainable partnerships at local and international level.

The TWEED and H2O Clusters have a mission to foster the sharing of knowledge and the exchange of good practice within the energy and water sectors, whilst encouraging inter-sectoral synergies. They support their members in developing regional, national and international partnerships, and actively contribute to strengthening the positioning of Walloon expertise within international value chains.

This dynamic also draws on the desire to collaborate with other organisations, groupings, clusters or competitiveness poles, in order to stimulate innovation and cooperation in the energy and water sectors.

As part of their activities, the TWEED and H2O Clusters develop numerous collaborations, whether these take the form of ad hoc synergies or structured partnerships with various stakeholders: Walloon, Belgian and European clusters, competitiveness poles, sectoral federations, public administrations and agencies, towns, municipalities and inter-municipal bodies, regional economic, financial and incubation tools, national and international bodies, and more.

Through these collaborations, the TWEED and H2O Clusters position themselves as reliable reference partners within the Walloon, Belgian and international economic landscape.

Walloon, Belgian and European clusters, competitiveness clusters, sectoral federations, public administrations and agencies, cities and municipalities and intercommunals, regional economic, financial or incubation tools, national and international organizations,… Through these collaborations, the TWEED and H2O clusters are positioning themselves as reliable reference partners in the Walloon, Belgian and international economic landscape.

Energy and Water Solutions for the Moroccan industry and support for the fields of Energy Storage and Hydrogen to promote Innovation between Belgium and Morocco

Energy and Water Solutions for Moroccan Industry and support for the fields of Energy Storage and Hydrogen to promote Innovation between Belgium and Morocco (SEHIM2) aims to support collaborations between Belgium (Wallonia-Brussels) and Morocco in the area of energy and water performance, and to boost innovative partnerships in the energy sector with a focus on the fields of energy storage, green hydrogen and water stress.

Collaborations are ensured on the one hand with AMEE, with the aim of promoting energy and water efficiency within Moroccan industries, and on the other hand with IRESEN, with the aim of promoting innovation in energy storage and green hydrogen.

As part of the Wallonia–Morocco Cooperation Programme 2023–2027, Cluster TWEED, with the support of Wallonie-Bruxelles International, is launching a call for proposals targeting companies based in Wallonia and Brussels that are active in the fields of energy efficiency, water management and industrial auditing.

This call for proposals is part of the [SEHIM]² project – Energy and Water Solutions for Moroccan Industry, carried out in partnership with the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency (AMEE). It aims to select a service provider (or consortium) to carry out an energy and water audit within a major Moroccan company in the agri-food sector.

Creation and coordination of the Belgian Hydrogen Council in association with Waterstofnet

Hydrogen is also generating interest at various institutional levels in Belgium (regions and federal government). With Waterstofnet (Waterstof Industrie Cluster) and Cluster TWEED (H2hub Wallonia), we have two industrial ecosystems supported respectively by Flanders and Wallonia. In order to facilitate this cooperation as much as possible, WaterstofNet and Cluster TWEED joined forces to create the “Belgian Hydrogen Council”.

The Belgian Hydrogen Council is composed of the (Belgian) members of both clusters.

This Belgian Hydrogen Council advises the various authorities on the specific themes for which cooperation is required, including:

  • Policy and Certification: Monitoring EU policy and legislation, drafting proposals for optimal transposition into Belgian and regional legislation.
  • H2 Infrastructure: Supporting the development of hydrogen infrastructure in Belgium with a strategic focus on uses, technical requirements, strategic locations, etc.
  • Industry Promotion: Developing promotional tools for the Belgian H2 industry.
  • International Collaborations: Establishing structured collaborations with similar organisations in other countries and identifying partner countries for future bilateral agreements with Belgium.
  • Training and Education: Analysing industry needs and proposing initiatives for the development of new training and education programmes.
