Water Quality & (Waste) Water Treatment

Walloon stakeholders possess genuine expertise in water treatment and purification, and their skills can be valorised internationally.

One of the main challenges in water treatment concerns micropollutants, which are not treated by current treatment plants and represent a danger to human health and ecosystems. Their number and the diversity of their characteristics drastically complicate their removal from water. The challenge of micropollutants therefore offers new opportunities for the sector, with the prospect of improving the quality of our water bodies and achieving the (new) objectives set at European level.
