The MiiL is an interdisciplinary media innovation centre. It studies the uses and appropriations of digital media, identifies their future and develops new solutions based on the concrete needs of markets and users.

The MiiL promotes interdisciplinary project research. It brings together communication, information and media specialists, computer engineers, economists, linguists, lawyers and sociologists. The specificity of this Media Lab consists in developing applied research, based on the concrete needs of players in the various information-communication sectors: media, companies, organisations, the public sector or culture, etc.

The requests that the MiiL deals with cover aspects of :

  • classical communication (ergonomics, storytelling, visualisation, cognition, evaluation, strategic, organisational and change management issues, etc.),

  • legal (intellectual rights: image rights, privacy, data ownership, etc.),

  • economic (performance evaluation, finding a business model for digital information, etc.),

  • technology (innovative applications, virtual reality, augmented reality, data visualisation, social network monitoring, etc.).

The MiiL offers an original combination of equipment, techniques and scientific skills.
