S²Engineering is a Charleroi-based company that grew out of the Pirnay Group. Created as a spin-off of POLY-TECH Engineering, since 2020 it has operated as a department specializing in measurement, analysis, simulation, support, and certification of carbon footprint reduction initiatives for construction and deconstruction projects, particularly in the context of reuse and FCBRE (French Council for Building and Construction Environment). Building on this expertise and its solid roots in the construction sector, S²Engineering decided in 2025 to become a fully autonomous entity. This development allows us to respond with even greater responsiveness, flexibility, and independence to the needs of companies, project owners, and architectural firms.
S²Engineering is the result of this development. S²Engineering is a spin-off of Poly-tech Engineering and shares its values while developing its own core business, moving away from the special technical engineering professions. S²E is a contraction of “Smart & Sustainable,” reinforcing its goal of linking technologies with sustainable development.
The term “Engineering” that follows is just as important because it affirms the approach with which the two “S” are treated: like engineers. This signifies our commitment to rigor and measurement in all actions carried out in the two “S”.
While our DNA is firmly rooted in the world of construction, we have gradually expanded our field of expertise to now support all players facing environmental and climate requirements: carbon footprint analysis, emission reduction strategies, regulatory support and certification, at the level of buildings, infrastructure, industrial processes, and organizations, across all sectors.
