How can conventional concrete be replaced by circular specialty concretes made from mineral-based waste and by-products in offshore wind turbine installation projects?
The offshore wind sector has been experiencing significant growth for many years, driven by support from European authorities and businesses due to its positive impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
This offshore market has been identified by the partners of the C-GROUT project as a genuine opportunity, particularly as it aligns perfectly with their core business and development strategy.
The C-GROUT project aims to produce circular specialty concretes for offshore wind applications. Using recycled materials to replace certain concrete components will generate economic, ecological, and technological benefits, strengthening the partners’ positioning in this sector.
This is a GREENWIN cluster project funded by the PNRR (under the recovery plan).

A Commitment to Circular Industry
As a designer of bulk material processing equipment and installer of turnkey solutions, Lessine has a direct interest in being part of REMIND WALLONIA: we contribute, from the source, to the development of industrial installations capable of addressing recycling and alternative resource challenges.
This interest is mutual: we actively collaborate with our future clients, and our pragmatic, industry-driven perspective steers research toward practical and realistic solutions.
Within the C-GROUT project, the recovery of by-products in the cutting-edge offshore wind field illustrates the relevance of developing circular solutions even for high-value products.
Faced with the heterogeneity of recycled materials, technology flexibility, adaptability, and control require creativity and innovation.
The need to limit the exploitation of primary resources—given their relative scarcity—compels us, morally and economically, to work toward circularity in the construction sector.
As a technological partner to industry stakeholders, Lessine is committed to this effort every day, and REMIND WALLONIA serves as a platform for exchanges and meetings that foster synergies and channel them into tangible projects.
