Photovoltaic

The sun, source of infinite energy

The photovoltaic sector has various subsectors :
Silicon PV (mono and poly-crystalline): this is the first generation of PV, which is the more widespread through the world, and gathers two crystalline silicon technologies, the monocrystalline silicon and the polycrystalline silicon. The modules are manufactured from fine silicon wafers connected the ones to the others in order to constitute a module.
Thin layer PV : this second generation gathers the technologies of amorphous silicon (have-If), of polycrystalline telluride composed of cadmium/cadmium sulfide (CdTe/CdS) and of combinations of indium and copper selenide (CIS or CIGS when gallium is added). The thin layers are manufactured on the basis of semiconductors materials deposit on a rigid or flexible substrate like plastic, glass or metal.
Organic PV or OPV : this third generation is related to the organic cells. The particularity of the organic cells is that they are manufactured from organic semiconductors materials affixed on substrates like plastic, and that their cost of manufacturing is very competitive.
Concentration PV or CPV : the concentration modules consist to concentrate the radiations of the sun on a small surface by means of an optical concentrator such as a lens of Fresnel.
