The project is based on 2 main pillars:

Consumption monitoring (meter tracking in conjunction with the Manufacturing Execution System)

Optimizing rainwater consumption

The Lefèbvre brewery aims to significantly reduce its consumption of borehole water and distribution water by constantly monitoring water consumers, and by optimizing the use of rainwater for production needs (osmosis water production for steam production) and cleaning. Borehole water is reserved for beer production and the production of osmosis water, while tap water is used mainly for cleaning.

To achieve this significant reduction, the brewery intends to make more specific use of its MES (Manufacturing Execution System) software, in which all production and cleaning activities are planned, and to link it to the monitoring of all water consumption to detect water losses (leaks, overflows, etc.) as quickly as possible. *** Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version) ***

MES will also be able to deduce water requirements, for example, per week of production, and in conjunction with IRM forecasts, optimize rainwater consumption. The aim here is twofold:

Use as much rainwater as possible to reduce pressure on the brewery's wells;

In the event of forecasted thunderstorms, ensure that tanks are empty before the storms, so that they can be used as storm water basins.

The MES interface will also be used for customized reporting to operators on water consumption, with the aim of raising their awareness of Rational Water Use.
