Institute of Condensed Matter and Nanosciences - UCLouvain

The Institute of Condensed Matter and Nanosciences (IMCN) is a UCLouvain research institute dedicated to the study, design, synthesis, characterization and modelling of materials, molecules, surfaces and nanostructures. Its activities span a wide range of disciplines including molecular chemistry, nanoscience, materials physics, biomaterials, catalysis, electrochemistry and advanced computational modelling.

The institute develops new materials for energy storage applications, including materials for lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors. Its research teams rely on advanced experimental and computational techniques to understand and predict material properties before manufacturing, thereby accelerating the development of innovative and sustainable solutions. IMCN collaborates extensively with academic and industrial partners and contributes to research projects addressing current technological, energy and environmental challenges.
